Grace M. Sheridan

March 20, 1921 - January 2, 2011

Grace M. Sheridan, 89, a long-time Janesville resident passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg, WI surrounded by her family. Grace was born on March 20, 1921 in Casselton, ND, the daughter of Sam and Christine (Wilson) Olson. She was a graduate of Janesville High School. In June of 1941, Grace married William D. Sheridan who preceded her in death in December of 1988. Grace was formerly employed by Parker Pen Company, State Farm Insurance Company and retired from Riverview Clinic where she worked as a receptionist. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed exercising and water aerobics at the YMCA as well as traveling with her friends. Grace crocheted many afghans for family, friends and the Easter Seal Society.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Sandy L. (Bill) Lammers of Woodbury, MN, Chris A (Tom) Scheider of Mt. Horeb, WI, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sheridan of Janesville, 8 grandchildren, Tracy, Bill, Jeff, Amy, Andrea, Dan, Jody, Nikki, 4 great-grandchildren, Nick, Jake, Sophia, Cody, 1 brother, Ken Olson as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was preceded in death by her son, Bill Sheridan, a grandson, Todd, a brother, Roy and a sister, Marian.

“The family wishes to thank the staff of Cozy Li’l Acres for their loving care during Grace’s time there and to the staff of HospiceCare for their compassionate care of Grace during her final days there.”

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 17 N. Jackson St., Janesville. Rev. Bruce A. Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan 5th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Rotary Gardens. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home
